While in Japan I didn't have my Macintosh so I had to rely on random windows boxes in random internet cafes. I often spent my time paying for the priveledge of trying to fix someone else's computer, installing Ad-Aware and what have you. Reading this now in 2024 implies they really wre not locked down in anyway you could install software downloaded from the Internet.
The other thing I did not have was a blog. I'm not sure I expected to still be maintaining this webpage over twenty years later. However, for a variety of reasons I am updating old content, as the kids call it these days. My blog now has a travel category as I hope to travel more if work allows. Collected below are the slightly edited emails I sent detailing my adventures when I lived in Japan.
